The Gay/Lesbian Marriage Debate

Okay, I guess the "politically correct" phrase would be "Same Sex Weddings." But then I have never made any claim at being politically correct. Actually, I don't give a rat's ass about being politically correct.

So I was watching Larry King Live this morning (having quickly ducked out of the office for 30 minutes when nobody was looking...one of the perks of living so close to where I work, hehehe) and here was this lady called Kathy Griffin discussing with Larry, her thoughts and opinion on gay weddings. Now like I always say, an opinion is like fart. We all have it, its just that some are louder, stinkier and more offensive than others. It is in the intricately simplistic beauty of this statement that I justify my need to have my own opinions and thoughts expressed via this blog. But I digress (as time goes on you will find that I do this very often- making abrupt turns and meanderings down seemingly mindless tirades of totally irrelevant and oft-times incoherent thoughts).

So anyho, here's Kathy, regaling the whole world with her opinions and thoughts on gay marriage. Of course, she is an avid supporter of the whole sordid affair and I listen in amusement as she loudly goes on and on telling us (by "us" I mean those right thinking people out there who still understand, accept and embrace the simple truth - that marriage should be between MAN and WOMAN) how myopic we are for believing that all marriages should be heterosexual. After she's done and gone, Larry invites a panel of discussants to debate the topic. I'm not even in the mood to go through all the points that were raised and canvassed during this debate. I do however have an opinion on this topic and seeing as this is my blog I will proceed to share this opinion with you free of charge and you will listen (or read...whatever!) to what I have to say. And in the event that you do not want to hear (or read...whatever!) my opinion then please leave now and never come back cos all you will EVER get here is my opinion. Why? BECAUSE IT'S MY BLOG!!! Ohhh...once again I digress!

I am always quietly amused whenever this issue comes up. Most times I listen with a hint of a smile on my face. When pressed for a comment I manage a non-committal shrug while taking a sip of my vodka-red bull. Now you may think that the reason for my silence is that I really don't care either way. Wrong! Or you may think I am silent because I don't want to offend anyone's sensibilities. Pu-lease!! So what does Retardo say?

This is what Retardo says: I believe in the beauty and the sanctity of the heterosexual marriage institution. I believe that a man was created for a woman and vice-versa. I believe that there is a reason sockets were designed to connect with plugs. I believe that some some "openings"are entrances and others are exits (this is also a reference to male-female anal sex, but then that's a topic for another day). I believe that only a complete jackass would see a woman in her naked beauty and splendour and go shag another man.I think that the whole homosexual community must be sniffing something that we don't know of.

I mean its one thing for them to live in their own perpetual state of self deceit and dementia but its a totally different thing, a thing which I take grave exception to, when they begin to insist that their particular brand of madness should also be shoved down every other persons' throats.

I listened to Kathy and her band of insane-in-the-brain-band-wagoners equate the homosexual agenda to the fights against racism and gender discrimination and I nearly fainted laughing at their incredible stupidity. If you look at either of the two issues, i.e. racism and sexual discrimination (i.e. discrimination based on gender, not orientation), you would see that these were cases of groups of people being discriminated against for things they had absolutely no control over. You are born black, white, yellow, red, or a combination of some or all of these and you simply don't have a say. You are also either born male or female and you don't have any control over that either. Any deviation from these is an  oddity and in the case of gays/lesbians it is an oddity they chose! Yeah, yeah...I've heard the "I was born this way" argument before and seriously I can only say "Come on sharrap!!!"

Nature is rife with examples of the grand scheme, the way it was designed. These guys are saying, "screw the grand design, screw nature, screw God!!!" and they want the sane world to smile and pat them on the back and say "well done." Sorry oh!

In the final part of the debate on LKL one of the discussants, whose name I cant remember, some jurist seeking relevance and prostituting her soul to get it, makes allusions to the fact that homosexuals and gays should be allowed to practice their, whatever it is, openly and that denying them the right to marriage is an infringement on their right to liberty. I agree! And I argue in the same vein that druggies, prostitutes and people who shag animals should be left alone to practice their, whatever it is, free from fear of prosecution.

One free world for all!!!

What a load of crap!!!

But then what do I know...
