Today has been without doubt one of the most "eventless"days of my life!
Woke up as usual at about 5:30am and I should have known something was amiss cos it was such a herculean task for me to get out of bed and on my knees for my daily commune with The Creator. Well, after a few false starts I finally managed to get out of bed but honestly the communion didnt quite flow as it usually does. Sometimes I try to imagine what it would feel like if I were a fly on the wall in God's room. I would get a spectacular "God's eye view" of millions of people every morning calling on Him for different reasons, in different ways. What an experience that would be!! Kai!
There would be those calling out in strong sure voices, reminding God of His numerous promises to them and pleading with him to honour those promises. There would be those other ones crying their hearts out, begging Him to come to their rescue, holding unto Him with the very essence of their beings; there would also be those (like me this morning) trying hard to keep our eyes open and our thoughts coherent but continually drifting off into a mindless babble...
God is truly a patient God!
But I have digressed. I was trying to share my mind numbingly boring day with you.
So, I eventually get ready, jump into my car and zoom off to work. I get there about 6 minutes later (yeah, I'm fortunate enough to live just a stone throw from where I work...eat your heart out!!), climb up to my office with a view (lol) and promptly log on to my computer to begin a day filled with exciting or at least interesting transactions that reqiure my legal prowess and acumen before they can be successfully consumated!
Then I waited for the transactions to roll in.....
Waited.....
..... Waited............
................Waited....................
................................NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, in order for you to understand how excrutiating this is for me, you must understand that I am a morning person. What this means is that I am at my peak in the morning. This is when my juices are flowing at their fullest and since I am "blessed" with being an exceptionally restless fellow, this is when I am at my most restless! Kai! I nearly craze!!!
Thankfully though, God, being the smarty that He is, took the time to install a little fail safe mechanism in me which I refer to as "emergency shut down." What this means is that when my body gets to chernobyl proportions of restlessness and there is no corresponding release of this energy, my entire system goes into automatic shut down, a.k.a. uncontrollable sleep mode, lest I implode into myself.
So i slept...and slept...and slept....and slept! In short, the only thing left for me to do was to install a waterbed and larva lamp in that office! Choi!
Somewhere in the midst of my slumberfest my mobile phone rings and its wifey! God I've never been so excited to get a call from her or anyone else for that matter!!! She keeps me occupied for about an hour and a half (yeah we can talk for days!) and then FINALLY, something drops into my mailbox that requires my attention! So i hurry wifey off the phone so I can run off and play super man!
Life has to be more interesting than this.....
